Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature activity. It offers everyone in a community a chance to participate in the fight against cancer. There are more than 5000 Relay For Life events that occur throughout the US, with 16 nations joining the efforts for more than three million total participants. Together, survivors and those impacted by cancer have raised more than $364 million worldwide.
This year, a team of Dog Enthusiasts has joined their passions and talents to organize this pioneer event coming together for the same great cause. This dog friendly grand event, “Mr. Forest Dog Walk for a Cure”, was the idea of Hal Hammel, 2008 Weston Relay For Life Event Chair, and Dyan Epstein, Publisher of the Weston Express, co-chair; as well as lead sponsor of this event. Mr. Forest, featured on the events logo, is Ms. Epstein’s gregarious Yorkshire Terrier.
The team’s goal is to make the event a success and someday expand to a national level.
“Mr. Forest Dog Walk for A Cure,” is a family fun and pet friendly event filled with canine activities and demonstrations, pet pictures and six (6) contest judged by Jeff Dellenbach, former Miami Dolphin and Super Bowl Champion. For our children there will be a Balloon Artist, Face Painting and Bounce House; along with great Food and Vendors for all.
All proceeds are going to the American Cancer Society to ensure their programs for research, education, advocacy and patient services. This is the perfect opportunity to participate and support Relay For Life in the battle against cancer.
